living for the king[dom]...

Greetings,

Just last week I've been in two different places but for similar reasons. The first four full-on days of the week I have been in Canberra for the National Training Event. It's an event bringing together university students, lecturers, staff workers, and bible college students from all over the country, also students overseas. The theme of this years NTE was 'Living for the King'.

I had a great time learning from the aussie writer John Dickson, which I am meaning to add on facebook. He spoke a sequence of talks about the Historical Jesus. Although I had trouble understanding it because of the technical jargon and myself not interested in history itself, I still got something out of it. There is evidence of Jesus Christ!

The last four full-on days of the week I was in Malabar, which is on the coast of New South Wales. Right near the beach. Bathurst and Orange campuses together teamed up with the St Marks Anglican Church. It was a great and new experience for many of us and personally myself. It wasn't so much taking over the church but working together with their yearly Christmas evangelism. Community service type of stuff like visiting nursing homes, door knocking, helping normal church activities, caroling at Westfield east gardens and doing scripture is primary schools.

We were all dead tired and wanted to go home. But most of us all continued to the end with gratefulness and I guess with some change in ourselves. I know its changed me a bit. Even though the Church was small, the Church has the potential to grow in congregation but mainly growing together with God. I pray for the continuation of leadership and congregation of St Marks Anglican Church - to keep moving forward with God! Thank you so much your hospitality and your encouraging words.

You've helped us realized something important!

Until next time
