euthanasia, is it our job...?

Greetings,

I never knew how much I missed blogging, so much. Well I'm kind of back into because I've done some productive work, or going to do some productive after I procrastinate a little more. Today was my first load of mass lectures for the second half of this semester. In about four to six weeks I've completed my first year of university and no longer a freshman. I'm ready to laugh at next years first years. Nah I'm not like that.

Anyways in my most interesting subject Law and Ethics, how unusual...? An interesting but yet a deep topic was brought up today. It was about the Law and Ethics of euthanasia. If you do not know what that term defines in simple format "its a nice way of saying killing". Euthanasia is an option to end someones suffering with death. Does this patient have the quality of life? Are they capable of living a normal life without treatment? Questions to ask, tough answers.

In our lecture although it brought up some discussion, it did give me a great deal to think about. As far as I am aware euthanasia is illegal in Australia. It remains illegal because in our culture we see it to be morally wrong. That's the thing, "our culture" everything that we see that may be morally wrong like murdering, taking drugs, telling lies there are no straight definitions out of a book or why they seem to be morally wrong.

"As others see[do] we all will see[do]" - The law or even ethics for this matter isn't made up by one man named Mr Law n' Ethics, the public, people, us, humanity created these rules. When we see euthanasia as an option to relieve our emotional pain or even financial troubles or the persons suffering, it might seem like a good idea at the time. It may benefit both the patient and your needs, but is it our job to say "This patient has suffered too much and relies on long-term treatment to continue living, would it be better to give them some peace?"

Some say Yes, under the suffering circumstances but some say No. Why No? I have seen strong belief that death has to take its course, we can't take a detour for any reason. Let nature do its job. Theres no argument there, maybe some legal problems and a greater deal of emotionally pain but there's still respect and dignity. So I leave you now with my comment.

I'm probably out of the billions of people in the world - always wanting or expecting an easy answer. A black and white answer, an answer to solve all problems. A book or guide that has all the answers but life is built around questions and choices that are usually left unanswered and undecided. We may live like this to the end of the days. But my strong belief about God, my Christian lifestyle can probably help me with the challenges I'll face. I might not get all the answers or the right choices, its how I'll live it - with God.

Until next time
Keep blogging or get into blogging

in Him, we live

Relgin.
Keep smiling =(

some heavy topic there, you're too good for me, son, really brilliant and insightful, coz I would not even blog about euthanasia, you're bold to do this, yes there are grey areas in this life, and I agree, our faith and our God is all that matters and what will determine our choices..lov u, momz
